I run marvels mystery oil every fill up, and a complete system cleaner about once ever month or two. I went about a mpg up from just standard. And I feel better as these trucks don't have a replaceable fuel filter without replacing the sending unit.

I didn't know the computer could count that high. My Dad says he puts injector cleaner in once a year and that helps allot, I bought it but haven't put it in yet.
Should put fuel injector cleaner in every oil change and do a fuel system cleaning treatment every other oil change. I do it and I seem to get better numbers and of course the engine is a hell alot cleaner.

I get 10.5 - 12.5mpg. I do have the 4X4 2500 quad cab long bed though. I got 14.6 on a trip once. All U 1500 owners with your MDS and 20mpg quit whining!

I don't have MDS so I'll never see those #'s.

Just curious. . . why do you use cruise control to accelerate?
I'm not using ethanol because I worry about long term issues with the engine. I use cruise control to accelerate because I'm doing whatever I can to avoid the led foot. I used to be pretty bad with previous cars, but when you can almost watch your gas gauge drop while you floor it - makes you change your mind on how you drive.

Trust me I know how you feel Dramrod. Unfortunately my cruise is broken. I like to hear my exhaust but truthfully any way I drive it I seem to get 12-13 mpg. The highest so far has been 13.5 but I have mostly been driving city.

I get about 1 MPG less than my Ford Ecoboost got but the upside is my Ram isn't in the shop an average of one week a month.

Not sure what I am doing wrong after reading this post!! The best i have seen in mine is 16.5 on the highway and usually closer to 16 and average 13 in town and between 7.5/8 MPG when towing......and I have MDS....what gives? Does a CAI help that much? I can't imagine a CAI would get me 3 to 4 MPG but at this point any help is an improvement.

I do have the 3.92 gears though so I guess that is most of it
