Default Ticking noise/sparking

Fellow Members,

My '01 1500 has what I thought was sparking coming from the right front of the engine near the fwd 2 spark plugs. Though last night when trying to see the sparking, we never saw it. Today when starting it, I listnened again, and after basically climbing into the compartment I thought it was coming from near the throttle body. Not seeing any spark/arcing I am not sure what it can be. If any of you have witnessed the same or know of a solution please tell me.

Thanks in advance
Brandon

Default

When I had my 1987 camaro it had a couple ticks: 1) leaking cylinder head to manifold/header gaskets, 2) arcing wires that I couldn't even see until my hand came into contact, If the wires are old I would change them out.

That's where I would start

Default Ticking

It was pretty much what you said. The arcing was coming from underneath the distributor, that is why I couldn't see it. Thankfully it wasn't a "lifter" as I had read could also been an issue. After replacing distributor cap, rotor and spark plug wires, she is running like a champ!!!

Thanks for the input!!
