Default air conditioning problem

so for a couple weeks now i have been having problems with my ac working intermittently. the light next to the snowflake button will flash with the ac on but lately even with the ac off the snowflake button stays illuminated for a while and when it starts flashing only than will the air conditioning work. the blower does not move any air at all it wont even turn on until all is right with the snowflake led. any help i checked fuses im not sure if there are relays or what not it seems like loose wires or something but when i hit the freeway it seems like it starts working quicker. i know its weird im confused about it all.

Could honestly be a multitude of things. Make sure that the condenser fan is working. (On the driver's side of the grill there's a second "radiator" with a fan. That's the condenser and condenser fan.) If that fan isn't working, you'll overheat the A/C system and will not get cold air unless you are moving. The high temp switch could be faulty, but not usually. Or the system could be low on freon, which would indicate that you have a leak somewhere. Not good. The light flashing on the dash could also mean that the control head is malfunctioning. I'll dig around and see what I can find.
