I had the opportunity to answer this question today. I've been working on the new trailer this weekend. I cleaned the heck out of it, painted the tounge and the tail board, added an auxiliary battery and an electric tounge jack. Once I got all of that completed, I loaded everything up within about 700 lbs of the total weight that I'll be pulling and took a trip over down I 540 to see how it would do with the super long grades.
I was totally impresseed with the power of the Hemi!! Maintained 60+ without much effeort and all the temps looked good as well. Oil stayed around 228 degerees, trans 172 degrees, coolant 204 degrees. The truck runs hotter than that in everyday traffic and it's 100 degrees here today.
Overall I am completly happy with the way the truck performs pulling the trailer after adding the weight distributing hitch, the sway control and the towing mirrors.
