Default No 4x4 indication

I have an 05 ram 1500 and when engaging the 4x4 in either lo or hi i get no indications on the dash. It feels like it is engaging. I have checked fuses and tried a reset of the ecu/tcu but still nothing. Any help out there?

do you have a manual or electronic shifter for the t-case? I have a manual and the same problem, theres probly no tcu code because the sensor is in the t-case. I think thats what is wrong with mine, just havent bother to test that theory yet since I know it engages when I pull the lever (I know because I was buried up to the frame and both axels were spinning). If thats what it is let me know so I can get my light to come on to!

Mine is the manual type...i found a site on the net that had a pretty good breakdown of how to trouble shoot this issue and I got lucky. All I had to do is engage 4lo or 4hi, when you do this turn your wheels left and right and give it a little gas. Did that and everything is all good. I have the page on my other laptop and will post it for you tomorrow morning. From what I was reading, the no light indication means that the axles are in different positions and doing this aligns everything up. Hope this may help!

Sometimes, the 4WD light stays on, or fails to come on. This is a great indicator. What it means is that there is a difference in speed between the two axle ends, and the vacuum can't move the collar. Burping the throttle, twisting the wheel side to side, or shifting the 4WD again generally releases the pressure.

That is what I did on mine and now it works perfectly.
