Default 1" - 3" Body Lift Question

THIS PROBABLY ISNT THE RIGHT PLACE SORRY IF IT ISNT

Doing a (Hockey Puck) Body Lift on my 2001 Dodge ram (MUD TRUCK) and i was wondering if i would need a Steering Extension for a 1" or 2" Lift I Know i would most likely need one for a 3" Lift so im looking for as High as i can go WITHOUT the Steering Extension

I hope i can go 3" but i doudt it Thanks In Advance

Its been many years since I did the body lift on my 95, but I think I remember having a gizmo for the tranny & 4wd lever, as well. The tow reciever got a set of 1/4" plates to raise it, as well as the front and rear bumpers, and I put one of those plastic wrap around valances on the bottom of the front bumper to cover the frame stubs. Everything in moderation, this also includes lifts, had you gone higher, you would have had wiring and body roll issues, as it is, I much prefer operating my body lifted truck over the non... it simply rides better that way, for some reason. it once had 14.5x36x15s, on 10s, miserable to drive that way, but they were bias tires, the offset had to be about neutral on the fronts, and it looked positively baddd with the offsets out on the rear, about 2". Now it has 205x85x16s, fully siped on factory alloys, same dia as factory, but much improved fuel economy and ride quality, even tho they're 10 plies, simply wonderful in snow , mud, puddles, and slush/snirt. I've had a few negative comments on my pizza cutter tires, but they're my secret weapon to go anywhere without hydroplaning, pulling sideways in slop, the siping keeps em digging in snow and about 4 MPG better than 265x70x16s...PS changing the offsets on your front wheels will make your truck into a wheel bearing eater. The big tires I had on there left me tickling the rear of the front fenders a little, in turns, shaving the outside edges a smidge cured that, as long as no rock crawling type manuevers were attempted, and your truck ain't no rock crawler, with that front axle.
