Picking up the new truck next weekend when I get home. Here's what's ordered as of now.
Starting with a 2012 Dodge Ram R/T
I'm having real hell finding the wheels I want to fit the way I want them to so it's getting these for now while I search. These are temporary...what I want will probably have to be built and is gonna take a while.
Tires are Pirelli Scorpion Zero in 305/35/22
Of course it's getting lowered so I ordered the McGaughy's 2/4 drop kit that I'll modify for about a 3/5
Can't not have shocks...so I went with single adjustable QA1's
Seems kinda silly to do all that work and leave stock sway bars on it...so Hellwig's are going on front and rear.
Don't wanna do all that and have a spongy rear suspension with rubber bushings...so I called up Spohn Performance.
Adjustable panhard bar.
And better upper and lower control arms.
And last but not least...SSBC's 14" front brake kit with 4 piston calipers along with matching slotted stock size rear rotors.
That's the suspension list for now. I want rear SSBC calipers but those are a long way out so stock will have to do for now.
Stereo/interior will be the second big part of the project followed by underhood show mods then motor mods. I need to call Billet Technologies this week...I'm gonna basically order their whole catalog for this truck.
My F250 actually doesn't look exactly like this anymore...I changed the front clip/headlights and wheels from this but I like this pic from a Diesel Power magazine photo shoot.
I really wish SSBC made these 8 piston calipers for the Dodge's...but 4 piston is as big as they make so that's what I'm stuck with. I'm 6'7" and 230lbs...so my hands are pretty large...these things make me look like a kid.

Those calipers are just damn sexy...... Do I see an f250 with a Cummins transplant? (; That's also hot. Looks like porn can be put off for a couple of days
Yes...it has a compound charged 2003 common Rail in it with a full billet Dodge 48re trans. Makes over 900 hp and 1800 ftlbs at the wheels. It's a handful to drive...pretty much just blows the tires off on the street anywhere under 60 mph.
This was after a round of mods and before I built an aluminum upper radiator hose and cleaned it up...but it essentially looks like this. Yes, that's a big nitrous solenoid on the bottom left...no, I never sprayed it. I had the fuel to do 1050-1100 hp on a single shot.
Hell...my office is in LaPorte and my friend that bought the truck isn't flying in till next Friday to pick it up. Maybe I'll drive it to work one day next week and take you for a spin. It's a crap load of fun getting sideways with traffic on 225 if I brake spool it and let it eat at 70 mph...90 pounds of boost does some amazing things. LOL
OH man! My warehouse is on the other side of laporte! Would seriously take you up on that offer. Diesels are my calling, god I love them! Something about a 6000+ pound truck eating vettes, vipers, porsches and anything you can throw at it is just pure beauty:smileup:
They're fun...they're expensive though. I have about 30K in the swap, trans and motor build. I let a new ported/polished head with a billet side draft intake manifold and a brand new cam I just had cut go with the truck....never had time to install them. That's several grand I'll never see again. lol
Unbroken, I'm officially hooked onto your build thread.
If the Ford is any indication of what your ram will look like, we are in for a great surprise
Thanks
I have some ideas....hopefully they'll come together.
I just started a thread in the 5.7 forum about B&G tuning.
If those guys can rewrite my ECM to a 2010 and tune for a blower I'll be ordering the Magnuson kit for a 2010 truck ASAP. I really can't see why they couldn't.
Hell...I'll trailer the truck to them if that's what it takes to tune it.
I have a project coming up that'll have me completely tied up 7 days a week from Sept4-Oct30...once that's over I'll have time to slap a blower on and take a trip up north for live tuning if necessary.
I'll call them tomorrow and see if it's possible. Looks like they tune a lot of high HP stuff so a simple blower addition should be cake. I can understand not doing it by mail...but if you can get your truck to them that should make it possible.....I think. lol
EDIT....email sent to them. I'll update with any info I get.
It's only a 1300 mile trip one way...no problem. lol
It will be debadged as soon as I pull in the driveway then a good cleaning to see what I'm working with. After that I'll see what parts start rolling in. I know a few things have shown up at my office but they just told me some boxes are there...I'll find out what on Monday.
I know the Blendmount and remote power cord for my Passport 9500ix are there....I need those ASAP. lol
If everything shows up this week I'll do the whole suspension/wheels and tires next Friday.
What a great truck this will be! Let me know how the QA1s work out...I have a quad cab with the BT 2/4 drop, want to go to a 3/5 and have plans for a cam/heads/6.1 manifold and nitrous. I would love to have some QA1s for the strip!
Looks like the hood is coming off Monday for a regular hood. Sorry Sport Hood fans....but that monstrosity has gotta go. OEM wheels are sold pending funds...don't need those taking up space either.
Guess I'll patiently wait on UPS and FedEx for the rest of my parts. I know it'll be 3-4 weeks on the brake kit....they take forever to do their powdercoating.
I talked to Fastlane here in Houston today...they have already done a MagnaCharger install on a 2012 truck....their in house tuners couldn't get the tune to work though. These guys are good...they do some serious cars and trucks there. Hopefully B&G is better. I know the blower will physically fit...if they can tune it in house it'll go up there on a trailer.
Arringon is doing 2011+ blowers, using the PCM swap method. The Challengers they do have the whole harness replaced....very expensive, but it works. They have a few 392 Chally's with Magnuson blowers now.
She's home...this is the first, last and only stock pic that will ever exist. lol
It's a nice truck....I like it. I never even test drove it...I just bought it for a project.
A little anemic in the power department but I expected that.
Can't wait to debadge it tomorrow morning and wire in my remote radar detector stuff.
BTW....my local deal to swap hoods for a regular hood fell through. If anyone local to Houston has a perfect bright silver hood and 400 bucks I'm looking to swap. I think that's a good deal for that hood considering they sell for closer to a grand.
