i dont bleieve this light gasket is only a 2010 issue.

back when i owned a 96 ram, i had water on the front passenger floor board for over a year...couldnt figureit out until i read snrusnak's post he copied above. after the fix, no more water in the floor board.

but for the first time this week, ive had water on my headliner after washing the truck...the third brake light seal is notorious for water.

since i went to teh LED bulbs though, i havent had any issue with the bulbs breaking/burning out.

Yes sir - I made a misstep there when I was posting - they are only cargo lights/and come on when you hit the fob. I was so focused on testing all my lights that I got confused there for a moment.

At any rate, I changed the bulb again and all is well. I can't see any signs of water infiltration in the housing, so I guess I'll just buy extra bulbs and keep changing them out every 20k miles.

Why are you guys putting in regular bulbs in the 3rd brake light? Why not just put in a Putco LED light? It will last the life of the truck. Put one in mine, never mess with it again. Did the same with the 2 cargo lamps in the housing as well.

I would make sure it is sealed properly (moisture can still get in) and use "bulb grease" to keep corrosion and pro-long the life of the bulb. hope this helps! good luck!

Funny... I have seen a lot of ram trucks with the third light not working. Mine is fine but only have 18k on the truck.
