Default Tonneau for xmas, Mopar hard folding vs bak F

Really having a tough time deciding between bak F1 and oem, price isn't much of a factor (about 100 bucks between the 2)- I have a 2014 crew cab, and see that the mopar hard folding is made by fold a cover, they say it is most like their LS series, but has some improvements etc- My concern about the bak is the drain lines, my bed came factory coated, don't like how the drain line looks or that I'd probably have to drill a hole somewhere since they coated over my plugs, also wondering if that voids warranty on liner- anybody have an opinoin or advice on which way to go? the oem version doesn't have much info out there and can't seem to find a video review- lots of video on the bak covers and they look a bit sleeker than the fold a cover varieties....thanks!

I have a Bakflip G2. I cannot comment on the Mopar cover, but I love my bakflip. If I could do it again, I probably would get the VP instead. In regards to the drain hoses, There are plastic plug inserts in the holes used for the hoses. You could drill the plug out. I probably wouldn't try to remove the plug with the spray in liner, but drilling it would be very easy (thin plastic) and I can't imagine it would void any warranties.

Thanks for the info! saw a different brand in a parking lot last night on a ram that sat up (like the fold a cover / oem) and think I'd like the flush look of the bak series better....why would you go with the VP over G2? I'm looking at F1 since there isn't a ton of price difference and it had a few upgrades (flush hinges)

I've got the BakFlip F1 and love it! Ran the drain hoses as instructed and surprisingly, no moisture even when driving in a storm.

Just wanted to throw another idea out there for you...

I know you've been considering the MOPAR OEM cover that we manufacture for Chrysler (which is a fantastic cover that I highly recommend), but have you considered the G4 Elite that we offer for the Dodge RAM?

The G4 Elite is our newest model cover. It opens utilizing one handed operation without needing to open the tailgate first. It sits on top of the rails so it can manage water before entering the truck bed, versus managing it with gutters and drain tubes after it's already made entry. We have videos on our site at the link below showing off the G4 Elite and Personal Caddy companion toolbox that goes with it.

Please contact me if you have any questions about any of the products we manufacture! I would be happy to help.

I have the bakflip f1. I don't regret it at all. Probuably the best decision I made. Only difference over the g2 is it's made out of a different material so it's a little stronger. Also the f1 has better designed rails and clips that makes the install less then 30 minutes. As for the DRAIN HOSES you can just drill some small holes for them to drain. I also bought the bak box 2 so I had some cargo storage in the bed. With that installed you cannot even see the drain hoses. Check my thread for some pictures

I use the drain tubes on my BakFlip VP. My Linex dealer drilled holes through the plastic plugs in the front of my truck bed before he sprayed the product. Works great. I don't think you'd have a problem if you drilled holes, after the fact.

My friend bought a MOPAR cover from a dealer and it was a Bakflip. Has anyone heard of this before? Makes me think that MOPAR is licencing their covers from Bakflip.
