Default 12v Power Outlet in Center Console Bin

Hi,
Still checking my new 3500 to make sure everything works. I plugged my phone into the 12v Power Outlet in the center console bin but no power. The rear 12v plug works. Any ideas? I checked the fuse it is good. I am thinking a warranty issue?

Thanks.

The outlet cover symbol might help you solve this. I believe some outlets only supply power with the key on or run position. Key symbol on cover. If battery symbol on cover then it should power all the time.

+1 on that, it is probably key only

Yah thats exactly what it is. I asked the sales guy why there was a picture of a key on the flap for the 12v he didn't know the answer. I really don't like that I can't leave my phone charging while i'm in seeing customers. Really only one of the very minor complaints I have for this vechicle.

You can make your one in the back seat work full time by moving the fuse from #90 to #91.

You can also make a fused wire go from one of the hot terminals to where the fuse goes for the outlet. Have done it on my last 3 trucks now.
