Cool Leveling Shocks/ new tires

Hey Guys,

I have an 02 dodge ram 1500 with the 4.7, and I am looking at some new tires for it. I am thinking about trying to get some Toyo MT's in a 285/75R 17 so I can fit them on my original rims. I do not have a leveling kit or anything, but was told that if i was to buy those Bilstein 5100 leveling shocks that the tires would fit. I have also heard that the Toyo MT tires wear out pretty quick, so I was wondering what you guys think.

Any reccomendations on tires, and does anybody know anything about the shocks? I am in college, and only want to do this once, because of my budget.

Thanks!

Kemper

I've got 33x12.50 toyo MTs on my 09 and they're holding up good. When I got the truck they had about 85% left and I've put about 2000kms and a few good burnouts on them and they're still looking good. Might want to look at getting M-16's they might be a bit more pricey (my local price for 35x12.50's was ~1500$) but from what I'm hearing around town they last forever compared to most mud tires.

Just got a price quote for the TOYO MT's and they were 382 bucks a tire, and another quote for some Cooper ST maxx tires that were 267 bucks a tire. Might be a difficult decision, but I may be leaning towards the Coopers

we have torsion bars on our trucks (until 2006 i think) so the 5100's won't do anything to help level your truck out. All you have to do is tighten your keys to raise the front end up

^^^^^^What he said about the 5100s. Crank your torsion bars if you want the front up.

That being said, you should be able to run a 285/75/17 without raising the front. That's only a 34" tire and should run with no problem.
