The one with the V is where he grounded it... he grounded it to the freakin battery!! Ill ground it on the seat like you suggest !

Also the wiring on the deck is fine thanks!

Yes, use the 4 gauge. Your power and ground should be the same size.

Yeah, same gauge in and out is a good rule of thumb. For low power systems you can get away with 4ga in 8ga out, but why potentially restrict the system when you don't have to. The seat bolt works great, and like was said earlier, make sure you have bare metal at all connection points to get a proper ground.

Yeah i agree with that, plus i have about 15 feet of it so might as well haha. Pulled out his shitty ground wire he had in before and yeah... glad i took it out, its pig tailed in a couple spots, and probably LESS then 8 gauge... Replaced with 4 gauge thats only 1 foot long, going to be attached to seat bolt.

Thanks for the help guys, been extremely helpful

Glad to be of service, we'll have to compare systems next time I'm up in Edm. I can't believe he pigtailed cable, sad really. Can I ask what the speaker-cable looking stuff in the engine bay is for? Just curious

You have your power wire running through the same plastic plate on the firewall as I do. You may want to consider putting a sealant around it or a grommet. It didnt occur to me to do it till I was scrubbing down my engine with simple green. I went to grab my phone out of my cab and had water running out the bottom of the door. No real biggy to me cause I dont have carpet. Just a helpful fyi.

I would first go ahead and try the 9 volt battery test. Take a 9 volt battery, buy a alligator clip to 9volt. I think radio shack has some. Clip the to the positives and negative, and you should hear a pop. If not then your sub might be blown. Or try borrowing sub from a friend and hook the up, if it works then something's wrong with your sub.
