Howdy Guys, I tried searching but couldn't really narrow it down. So here's a pic, this is mounted on the frame on both sides just under the front doors. What is it, doesn't appear to be attached to anything..

Vibration damper I believe. I see them a lot on transfers and transmissions. Mostly on Ford trucks and SUV's.

Yes they are vibration dampeners
they stop the noise & vibrations that travel along the frame
without them you would hear noises that sound like they are coming from the floor & feel things that make your brake pedal & other things shake or vibrate

O ok, that makes sense. Figured it couldnt jsut be a useless pice of steel, they only put those on GM trucks
