Question Water in fuel message

I am getting the water in fuel message on my dash of my 2011 Ram 3500 Laramie 6.7. There is one 'ding' and the message icon comes on the dash. It happens on a random basis. Sometimes it on lasts for 5 seconds and other times it stays on for a few minutes. The manual says that if you have water in the fuel separator it will 'ding or chime' 5 times and then the icon will come on. It says to stop and drain the fuel filter bowl. I have drained the bowl a few times but the icons still comes back on a random basis. Any ideas??
