They are going to chip if--

A) You are not careful when you remove/reinstall wheels.

B) They are not cleaned regularly.

C) The calipers were not cleaned throughouly before install.

D) The calipers were painted when hot.

E) VHT was not allowed to dry for 12 hours, then cured properly by subjecting the brakes to repeated stops from 50-10mph for about 10 minutes.

Heating the brake system to roughly 200 degrees 12 hours after application will cure VHT and physically bond it to the metal your caliper is made out of. Short of smacking it with a tool, dropping the caliper when changing pads or hitting it when removing a wheel, it should never chip/flake/peel if its cleaned regularly. I hit them once a week with a wheel brush and a rag with soapy water. This also keeps the inside of the wheels clean

Not saying you didn't have a problem, but I have been doing this the better part of 15 years now and the only time I ever had an issue was when I didn't use the correct product (one time I used a high temp paint, but the primer was not high temp), or when one of the above things happened.

well had them off completely dismantled and prepped by a shop so ya not like i just painted them over grease and put wheels back on was just putting my exp out there. Hopefully yours hold up im not a 15 yr old kid ive been doing this for a long time. So you been painting calipers since you were 12 thats cool wish my kid was into that stuff. And i agree some products work some suck hell ive seen some of those high end calipers on 100-200k cars chipping

And it took months before they started flaking / chipping maybe they have stepped there product up who knows

^LOL OMG O_O

Not discounting you, and no, I havent been painting brakes since I was 12, but I have been painting and tinkering for at least that long. Pretty much since I was old enough to hold a wrench.

I do like the plastic covers, however I do not like the price. If i have to shoot these again every couple of years then so be it. $200+ for caliper covers is insane, IMO.
