First mod I did after buying my truck in March. Wanted to get it done before the calipers developed any rust or road grime on them. So far, holding up great with the Dupli-Color caliper paint.

One thing, if you use a wheel brush with a twisted wire core, be careful when poking it in near the calipers. It will scratch the paint off if you aren't.

Dude, you were right, and I will be the first one to admit it when I am wrong.

After 6 months, every one of my calipers looked like the pic above.

I took wire brushes to them, then primed with rustoleum and repainted with Duplicolor Metallic Red and Metallic Clear.

Here are the results:

Did the engine bay too:

I used the dupli-color brush on paint (not spray can) when I painted my WS6 calipers. This was back in 05 when I bought it. NOW I have only put 10k miles on it since, but have used a wheel acid to clean the wheels on several occasions and even used a heated pressure washer on them several times. I noticed this past weekend that the left rear caliper had a spot on the corner where the read has come off. These calipers are aluminum and not cast/steel. NOT sure is this makes a difference or not. I cleaned them very good with brake/carb cleaner and that wheel acid. They looked better than new when I was done. I used no primer on them either.

Good luck on the paint work. I am thinking about doing mine just to do small details.
