Unhappy headlights will not go out, highbeam indicator stays on

I have a problem with my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. My headlights will not go out, even if the switch is pulled. The only way they go out is if the fuses are removed. Also the highbeam indicator light stays on. Have not done any type of electrical work on truck. Drove it last night parked it and all was well, got up to go to work, dead battery. Charged battery and that is when I realized headlights were on, and should not have been. My brother removed switch and still on. only went out when we took out fuses. He also noticed that the highbeam indicator light was on. Can someone help me with this MAJOR problem.. Thanks

Pulling it out turns the lights on pushing it in. Try pulling the turn signal switch toward the steering wheel to turn of the brights.. If you have done both of these, Then I don't know. Just a common answer from a common person.

According to my book, it makes a huge difference, as far as I see, if you have DRLs. if so, you may try and unplug the control box, IF you can find it. if you don't have DRLs, my book sez that theres a circuit breaker for the headlights, in the PDC box under the hood, however, I personally believe there oughtta be a relay in there too, for lows, and highs, because of the power draw. I feel that thats what I'd be swapping out with another, from another position, as it may be stuck/melted in the contact position. Sorry, thats all all the input I'm capable of, tho not much...
