50% is too dark on the windshield IMO unless you plan on doing no night time driving. Go with a high quality ceramic like Llumar Air Blue 80%. It will block the heat, but not affect vision as much as a 35% tint. Here's some shots of it at day and night. The side window in the pics is a 20% and he has the window cracked to show the contrast.

Tintzoom sells windshield kits of Air Blue for about $50 shipped. They even will resell you the same kit for $15 if you happen to mess up. I'm going to give it a shot. It has similar heat rejection to a 20% dyed tint, but is easy to see out of.

Tint the windshield! My buddy has I beleive 35% or maybe darker, and its amazing. You can not see him sitting in his truck or anything.

I am looking at getting mine done, place I am going to will only go as low as 35% and he has it on his blacked out SUV and he said its dark at night. People don't realized the angle of the windshield helps it become darker.

It is illegal were I live, but you can pass inspection so it is no biggie, you can always have them cut around the inspection sticker or something.

Default Tinted Windows

I have a 2011 Longhorn, with both front doors glass tinted, windshield stayed stock. Because the Longhorn package comes with different color on the tech & speedo you can't see the MPH lettering on the speedo, or RPM on the tech during sunny days. The color Chrsyler used is a dark bronze color with black numbers. Night time is OK. This color is just used on the Longhorn.
