Default MPG effects of replacement bumper/grill guard?

I've got a new 2013 diesel 2500 HD megacab and plan to add a deer-guard on the front. Some replacement bumper/grill guards weigh 200-250 lbs. I've got the snow plow prep and don't worry much about the suspension, but does anybody actually know how much of a mileage hit you get with the extra weight?

Apples and oranges I know but I had a 99 F250 7.3 and went from the stock bumper to a full FRU with bull bar and such around 120k miles. I think the weight was close to 300-400lbs. It dropped by 1-2 mpg (21 hwy down to 19).

Weight is one factor but the aerodynamics are another. If you go from the smooth rounded front end to the slab cast iron, the aero penalty may be a bigger factor than the weight.

Thanks-- good point. I know they pay lots of attention these days to aerodynamics. Might pay extra for lighter aluminum unit and wind up in the same place. (dumb question: FRU stands for ___? )

Sorry, was elsewhere...

Frontend
Replacement
Unit.

It's the full bumper, cow catcher, etc. I've heard that term a lot in Texas and around the Ford forums.
