Default question about 3500

Last June I picked up a 3500 regular cab for my father in law to do some trailer transport with. He has gotten out of transport due to health issues, and selling the truck has gone slow. I have been playing with the idea of keeping it, losing the drw and converting to a short bed. Basically turning it in to a hotrod.

How much would that cost? If i did take it on could anyone point me in the right direction for more info?

It would probably be cheaper to sell the truck...pick up a srw regular cab and go from there.
Probably the only 2wd Blue Crew in Canada.
