Default cat delete and y pipe

I recently installed the Flowmaster cat back system with the 50 series muffler. Ive been reading about people having the cats cut out and the y pipe replaced. Does is make a noticible difference? How much louder will it be? Said it will run me about 200 bucks. Worth it?

no emissions there? if it's stainless pipe and that includes the y-pipe I'd do it for only $200. it will make a difference (mainly the y-pipe) but I don't how much...but all the mods will start to add up.

Our cats are high flow compared to earlier model vehicles with cats. You are not going to see any significant gains removing the cats, especially without a tune. Leave the cats and install the y- pipe.
Yep gotta love the south! Your car can be pouring smoke as you drive by a policeman and they will not even put their doughnut down. About the only problem they will get you for is excessively noisy exhausts.

i deleted just the cats left the stock y pipe going into a flowmaster super 44 and it was LOUD!!! lost torque as well, now i still have the cats deleted but i have an x pipe instead of the y and two borla mufflers, way quiter, volume is down, but quality of sound way up, if you want loud and cross your fingers it will sound better, delete the cats, thats what i did, was happy at first because it drew so much attention, but the loss in torque maid me go another way
