Default Tongue Wt on 4x4 with Leveling Kit

I have a Daystar 2.5" leveling kit for my 4x4 and haven't installed it yet. I understand it will raise my front by 2". Concerned with the nose up attitude when towing. Has anybody here ulled a trailer with the leveling kit installed? How much sag did you get in the back. Wheel wells measure 40" in rear and 36.5" in front now. I think the kit will bring the front up to 38.5".
I'm talking of pulling a Lite trailer with around 400 lbs of tongue weight. Will I need air bags in the rear to keep it safe.
I guess I could ge a couple of big boys to stand on the bumper and see what it does now.lol Just curious how it hadles wdith a trqailer in tow.
Any help here would be asppreciated.
Thanks in advance

I realize we have different trucks but I hope this helps. I have a HBS 2" level in mine and towed this with minimal squat in the rear. I would suggest hooking it up and see. If necessary get air bags.

I did 2.1" lift in front with the Bilsteins and I pull a 6000# boat with mine with about 600# tongue weight...... had a bit of sag... no biggie but it made me nuts so I put in Airlift 1000 helper bags in the coils... Problem solved for $100 bucks!

I'm pretty sure tongue weight is a function of the trailer hitch and is not supposed to be exceeded regardless of what vehicle is involved. It is a measure of how the load is distributed and not really tied to how much a vehicle can pull. You can have too much tongue weight and still be well under the towing capacity. Excessive tongue weight affects weight transfer and handling because it makes the front end too light, especially when braking.

If the tongue weight makes your truck drop 2" without the leveling kit, it will still drop 2" with the leveling kit. My boat has a tongue weight of ~ 300 lbs, so I'd expect yours may drop up to 3", as mine drops ~ 2".

So, if you raise the front to within 1.5" of level as you mention (38.5" front, 40" rear), then when towing, the front will be 1/2" higher than the rear at a minimum if your tongue weight drops you 2".

You need to figure out how much the tongue weight drops the rear unleveled, and then make sure the front is at least that much lower when leveled to avoid the front being higher than the rear when towing

Thanks for all of the responses.
I'll be traveling with a light travel trailer with only about 380 to 400 lbs of tongue weight and the total weight of said trailer is around 4000 lbs which should not be an issue with this truck. Just for peace of mind, I want to keep the front down for obvious reasons. I guess the air bags are the way to go.
Can the air bags be intalled to run empty until needed? Or should I say with low pressure.
Is there a sticky on here showing install?
Thanks in advance.

run your airbags with about 10lbs in them, you should be good.

most that have installed them, then run the hose to the rear plate on the hitch. makes for easy access and looks clean.

I put my air valve next to my trailer wire plug in the bumper... I run 5-10 pounds empty and 25-30 pounds to stay level with the boat on... helped with the high beam flashes too i used to get with the nose high.... truck handles great! you'll have no issues!
