Default GPS night mode

I have the Garmin GPS in my truck and while on a long trip in the dark I realized the screen never went into night mode. I looked all over the settings and there is no option for setting it to night mode where the screen is black and not so bright. Should I have this option? I checked the help menu on the radio and it told me how but I just do not have it.

Yes, you can adjust the setting, i have an 11 outdoorsman too and it took me a little fooling around to figure it out. Honestly, i cant remember how i did it at the moment but it was in a place i didnt expect. Kepp hunting, ill take a look tomorrow and follow up on this for you. I think its in the general radio settings, not the GPS itself

Use the dimmer wheel...there are two indents on the wheel. one to turn the dome light totally on and the other that will dim the screen for the mygig

yep, the dimmer wheel does it. i found this the other night when cutting my inside light back off, i accidently went 1 click to far and my nav screen suddenly went to a black background. i had wondered why it was so bright!

The dimmer wheel was all the way to the right. I turned it to the left and it clicked but have not checked the Mac screen since. It was set to auto in the settings once I finally found it though. I will check and see when I can.

What everyone else is saying. You are 1 click to the right to far. turn it slowly to the left till you feel a click and you are all set to go

Okay. It's working now. I don't know why the dome lights weren't always on because now when I turn it all the way right all the lights turn on. I'm confused but night mode now works like it should.
