Default Question about suspension lift and driveshaft angle.

How much lift can I go on my 2005 Ram 1500 Sport before it affects driveshaft angle?

Thanks
Bill

I wouldn't know, BUT I can tell you I would still check angles no matter what lift or drop just to be safe instead of guessing. Also remember the angles aren't even close to perfect on the y axis they may be aligned around 2 degrees but the x axis can be way off, if both are way off then you will have serious vibration. Atleast one has to be close to perfect and I always try to keep the y axis as perfect because the x axis is likely to be off unless the engine, transmission, and pinion on axle is in stright line. But If you want my guess probably safe for 2" of lift, but even the change of an inch can change the pinion angle a degree or two. For driveshaft operation speeds of 5000RPM the angles must be within 2.3 degrees. So just remember things are pretty tight, but with larger wheels and a 3.55 axle ratio you may only hit around 4500RPM tops I couldn't say with certainty but it's close to it. I could give you certain answers I certainly know how and have done it but percise info is needed for a precise answer.

Would'nt this question be more appropriate for the lifted suspension section? I would think you would get more help there.
