Default Took the plasti-dip dive

Had the cans sitting around waiting to get it down and well finally got around to it today. Did the wheels and side steps. Side steps were more of an experiment, see how well it holds up and lasts. One step closer to all black. Picture quality sucks took it with my phone.

Looks great. That might be a good idea for the wheels so not to get damaged or pitted over the winter.

Thanks everyone. Up close there are a few imperfections. First attempt at doing it but I don't think I did to bad of a job. The next steps are a little further down the road unfortunately. I'm gonna get some of the retro shop headlights and fogs or maybe the new '13 black lights if they end up fitting. Then some black LED tail lights. smoke the mirror lamps and add LEDs. The hardest thing is finding a black toolbox. I want to find one to just do a trade with. Or get some smaller in bed boxes fabricated and get a tonneau cover. Decisions decisions.

edit: Oh and you can't see them in the picture (I'll try to get one that you can) I have matte black HEMI badges where the hood rises up.

Looking good that Plasti dip is fun to play with and very forgiving. If you don't like it just peel it off.

I did the same thing to my wheels. One of these days I will borrow a set of wheels from someone and get them powder coated. The plastidip works fine but just not the same..

Just as a thought, regarding the black toolbox have you considered some of the spray on or roll on DIY bedliner? I just did mine and it turned out pretty decent, certainly not the same finish as say line x or one that was manufactured black. I ended up starting with the roll on EZ liner and ended up moving to the aerosol stuff for easier application and easier blending. I'll see about taking a few different pics here in the near future if you're interested. I guess another note is that I don't have any plans of selling said tool box and understand it probably hurt the interest/ sell value but I can't say I much care haha.Truck is looking good btw!

@ Thrivix Yeah if you could post some pics thatd be great. I've tried posting on craigslist and here about trading toolboxes with someone. No luck lol. So I am open to other ideas. My next idea was to get a friend to make to smaller boxes out of a lightweight metal that fit in the corners and are secured via the hooks in the bed. Just enough space to hold my tools and straps and such.
