Default Snowplow questions???

So i just got a hell of a deal on a new western snowplow for my truck. Its a 9' plow with wings. I talked to dealer and got it in writing that it wont void warrenty but my question to yall is should i run timbrems, a leveling kit, or add air bags to the front? Im waiting on my rear bags to show up and i ordered the on board compressor as well so was thinking bout maybe just adding em to front as well but for guys that have em whats your setup? Keep in mind my truck is a 2500. Thanks in advance

It is good that you have the 2500 model to use the plow on
1500s don't really cut it & if something goes wrong with the front end, it is on you
a few people take the complete plow mounting brackets off before going to the dealership to get repairs done on the 1500s

This is from the Factory Bodybuilders site concerning plows

approx weight is 750-900 lbs but i have the 5200 or 5500lb front end looking at my spec sheet and dealer looked through it with me and said it was the heavier duty front end?? the way they made it sound was my truck has the same front end as a diesel? not sure but i got it in writing from em so not worried bout that. Also do yall know if it will affect the air bags?? all my other plow trucks have been old and havent really worried much about it

skinnysfd, it should be fine. I work in the maintenance dept for a school and have to push snow in the winter. It sounds like a really nice plow. I have an F-250 (which is crap) for a work truck. Anyway, I should have gotten a bigger plow. You will be fine as far as weight goes. I am currently having wings added to mine.
As far as the air bags, you don't need to worry unless you are going too fast. But they have springs called trip return springs which are designed to protect your plow and truck when you either hit an obsticale or when pushing snow. When you hit something the top of your plow may bend downward, the trip springs prevent it from whipping back and casuing damage. I have hit some big snow piles before with no issues. Go to Westerns website for more info, but I wouldn't worry about it.

Oh, by the way, which model did you get? Pro-plus, wideout? Just curious. If you have any other questions, just let me know.
Since you have plowed before, I take it you have no others.

I got the pro plus with hanheld not the joystick controller and it also has wings. I have the kick back springs etc on it as well. Only other question I have is that under my truck there is two 2" x2" square tubing that comes off the frame like a factory snow plow mount???? Any ideas what it could be it is right where u would attach these frame mounts for the plow so they have to come off????

Sweet set up. I have always used the joystick and can't get used to the handheld. I tried, but never got used to that setup. My truck has them as well. I know a lot of guys have just taken them off. I can't remember the thread where they were talking about it. Some took them off b/c they would never use them, or were installing something.

They should just have a few bolts, if that per side and they should slide off fairly easy. The only reason I am leaving mine on is on some of my off road trips it's probably saved me from smashing the bumper on stuff.
If you can't mount the plow with those tubes on there, I'd take them off if they don't bolt up correctly. Worst you can do is ask the dealer you got the plow from, they should know. Just my 2 cents.

The Timbrens work very well. Airbags can be a problem if you break one.
I plow commercially. My 1st truck was an 04 2500. Went through ball joints and front axle u joints every season. My current truck is a 09 4500. So far 1 set of balljoints since new.2 sets of front axle u joints. I am running a 9.2 BOSS XTREME V.weighs about 1100 lbs.
This last winter I put 30000 miles on the truck. Most of it plow miles.
