Default Weird problems on 5.9

I've got a 96' 1500 4x4 and its got a wierd problem. For starters the truck was sitting in a lady's front yard for two years and never ran.... I rescued it a year ago and I run it every other day. Since I've gotten it it has suffered from random cut offs and a check engine light. It only cuts off after it has reached operating temperature but once again it doesn't do it all the time, yesterday it didn't today it might not; however it starts right back up w/ no problem afterwards. And my second problem is the check engine light. It only seem to come on at high rpms with a code saying "multiple misfire detected" every once in a while it'll point to cylinder 5. So I changed plugs and wires with OE plugs and autolite wires and it still has this problem. The only thing I can come up with is a possible pick up in the distributor. Anyone have any ideas???

Compression test truck, replace pick up and rotor mayby even cap. Also for issue of stallin after warm up look into air temp sensor in manifold. Its behind alt at front of intake.

That's about all that's left.

My shutdowns were due to lack of fuel pressure, AKA intermittant fuel pump, I'd seriously consider checking for 35-40 and rock solid, at the test port, under any condition while operating. As far as the #5 miss, take a look down the throttle plates, with them open, look for oily residue. If you've got it, you for certain have a sucked in intake gasket. On the bottom of the intake, it is NOT intake to head leak, it's a stoooopid gasket on the bottom of the manifold, that fatigues and cracks, whatever, and leaks, creating a misfire, and a heavy knock, under load.
