Good luck with your decision to join. I have 10 months to go until I hit 20 in the Navy and I am retiring. Ready to move onto the next chapter in my life. For families that don't have a whole lot of military involvement or background, it is kind of an uphill battle to get them to agree to it. I just hope that they will give you their blessing in your journey and decision. Have you tried to get your recruiter to talk to them? Just a thought, as they go to school in order to assist them in answering these questions and facing parental concerns with military adjustment and life. If they don't give you their blessing, their are many people, not just on this forum, but in the nation that are ready and willing to support and thank you for your decision to serve this great nation of ours. As a future retiree of our armed forces, I salute you in your decision to help defend our country.
