Default intake and exhaust

Hey guys I am new to Dodge and the 4.7 engine. I have been happy with the performance thus far and it seems to fit my needs.

On the other hand I am always looking for more power and a better sound. Any suggestions and experience with air intakes and exhaust systems for a 2012 1500 4.7??

I have been looking at the K&N systems and the Flowmaster American thunder cat back split systems. Opinions on either or has anyone run either on their trucks?

I'd recommend a straight through type muffler if you want the most power. Magnaflow, dynomax, etc there are a lot of manufacturers.

Mufflex makes a bolt in muffler kit using magnaflow mufflers.

As far as intakes.....most of the big names will be great. I use an airaid drop in and MIT. And plan to eventually make a ram air scoop to feed the stock air box.

Default re: intake and exhaust

Thanks for the info.

I actually picked up and installed a K & N replacement filter over the weekend until I decide whether I want to do a full cold air kit yet.

Exhaust will more than likely be the next thing i check off the list.

I have the k&n CAI and Mufflex 18" magnaflow with a supechips. Love the combo. Wished the gearing was the 3.96 cuz I have the 3.55 but it rolls on really good. I will say the mufflex magnaflow retrofit is a great buy since the pipe is great on the stock.

Don't use a "chip" they are worthless. You want a real tune with a tuner.

I wouldn't waste the money, they don't do anything. Unless you are tapping it for nitrous
