Default Big horn Muffler delete

I just picked up my 2011 1500 Big Horn and was curious if I can remove the muffler and have a local shop make me a pipe to replace it. Is there anything I should be concerned about doing this?

Thanks man, unfortunately I decided against going straight pipe now..My wife would kill me If she had to listen to me pull off every morning with that.

I need to tone it down a bit, so I'm now looking at retro fitting a Thrush muffler on. It has a 13' body and 19' full length single 3' and dual 2.5'. Is this worth it or should I get Flowmaster or another brand muffler?

MorsExTenebris; welcome to the 50/50 club bud! In other words, we have to think about our other half and not of just ourselves. It is the price we men pay that take on the gift of marriage and babies. Good luck man and I'm proud of your decision bud. As far as a muffler, I'd go with a 14" magnaflow if you don't mind a little bit of drone between 1500-1700rpm. At least thats where I get mine even with an 18" magnaflow muff. The 18" has a nice mild deep tone when gettin on it but If I had to do it over again, I would have went with the 14" with just a bit more aggressiveness. But you know the deal; You do you man.

I have the delete and have to say its not as bad as people think. But i guess there are different ideas of what loud is.
here is a short clip i took with my iphone as the wife was pulling off. Of course she doesnt drive it like i do. the resonators at the rear of the system really helps to tone it down some. I have considered removing them just to get a bit more of an aggressive sound.

Ramfd! That sounds BADASS brother! But if that ain't loud for you, you must be thinking of running an automatic cutout just after your Cats in order to qualify an exhaust system as loud. Hahaha! I ran cherrybombs in my 97 5.9Magnum and always got dirty looks from my neighbors because I left for work around 4A.M. especially on Saturdays. Trust me bud, your exhaust is loud for the suburb type of living. My homeowner association would have to send me more loveletter warnings of excessive noise.

That is true bud, cold start is definitely louder. Oh, did I mention the majority of the dirty looks came from Prius, Highlander and Element owners/neighbors? Hahaha! You should have seen the looks on their faces when I rolled into the neighborhood all mudded up, and washing the beast off in my driveway! I just look back at them, nod my head for "WAZ UP", and smile from ear to ear! I guess RAM does stand for "Rebel Ass Motherfu?!#@!"

Awesome, Thanks guys for the help..and thanks for the Welcome Gantman. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be rolling around in this sweet truck right now!

I have the Thrush muffler right now, so I will post a vid once I do the work. I'm running into the typical issues with rusted muffler bolts & clamps. Trying again tomorrow after the open/shut soaks in over night.
