Guess I should clarify - it can from what I've been told at the training center, but I haven't seen it actually done, specifically in the Liberty.

02-05 liberty and even rams have same transmission. Difference is torque converter. 02 was 45rfe. Then after they turn into ngc witch turn it into 545rfe. Yes splines are the same, due to the same transmission. Newer models i dont know.

sorry, i know this is late. i ended up installing the stall not bad really. it stalls at WOT around 2600-2800.

What vehicle did you get it out of? I installed an aftermarket TC in my truck and seemed to lose top end so thinking of changing.

I don't understand how a 3.7L converter would stall that high on a 4.7L, as I assume stock stall rpm on the 3.7L is not nearly that high.

you might want to get your stall rework. its from an 02 jeep liberty 3.7L. their stalls and 4.7 are different internally. they are meant for low output HP. well seens our engine put a little more then 3.7L, it would stall a little higher. same if you put a 4.7 stall on a hemi, but hemi puts out a whole lot more so stall wont last long.
