Default started revving high randomly

so i was on my way home from work when i noticed my engine was revving high, engine fan was goin crazy, and the rpms would rise everytime i pushed the clutch in to shift. it idles at a normal rpm, around 600-700, so i dont think its the IAC valve. took a look at the intake and throttle, all looks clean and normal. I just cant figure out what it might be. any ideas?

Smile high revving.....

Hi there, reading about your problem, have you thought it might be the throttle position sensor? I had this problem some time ago and replacing this part cured it. It is not expensive and only takes 5 minutes to do. Remove two screws and disconnect the electrical supply. Hope this works for you!

Any check engine lights?

How many miles?

So it idles normal but when you press the clutch in the rpms go crazy? A little more info, specifics, would help. Sounds like a faulty sensor or vacuum leak.

no check engine lights, i've got 94,949 miles on the truck. it idles normal but seems to run fast when in gear and rpms shoot up when i step on the clutch to shift. it also sounds like my engine fan is goin pretty nuts but the engine temp is normal

I'd guess either a vacuum leak or fuel pressure issue(too much).
