Default I need a little help!

I need to know how long the oil dipstick is from the bottom end to the little pin that holds the handle on. I can't find one anywhere in the salvage yards here. I got one from a 5.2 that I want to shorten. I have the 3.9 in a 1995 ram.

Did you check for a dipstick in a 3.9 Dakota or Jeep?

EDIT: not Jeep I meant full size van...

I did. They were all missing the engines.

I don't even know if there is a difference in length to be honest. Does it hit the pan when you insert it?

Everything on the front of the motor is the same and depending on the year (Post '94) the 3.9 pans are the same depth). Prior to '94 the pans were narrower in the sump and had a different oil pick up tube and screen.

The 5.2 is about 3 inches too long.
