Default well i am almost there . o and a new guy hi

hows it going every one . Well i just got my 99 dodge ram sport 4x4 with the gasser 5.9 a week ago sat . It kept having a cylinder 8 misfire that a tune up just did not get rid of . Well thanks to this form i found out it was the intake and pan . Last night got it all off work at the parts store and pulled it in the garage and started tear down . That only took like 2 hr tops at that i was shocked .Now i have always been a ford truck man so this is my first dodge . . Why taking the intake off the motor there was what i found three snapped bolts someone rv silicone back in the hole. My guess is someone attempted this job before i bought it . At that point i was ready to just give up . I had no clue how to get them studs out with out a lot of drilling . So before i packed it in for the night i sprayed them down with lubricant and said i will try vice grips tomorrow . well Dismoing that did not work so i went to my job and bought a easy out . Bad mistake . That pilot bit broke after 5 min . I was like i am screwed . So i redneck it and pounded a 7 mm socket on the stud and broke out the little propane torch heated for like five min and low and behold they backed right out with almost no fit . Now its time to head into work i wont get it done liked planed but as soon as i get off time to start to put back together . only been a member for a few days and this place has already helped me a ton

. THANKS GUYS
