My build date falls in the range but online and on the phone, they say there is no recall.

Here's the latest per the case manager that handled this at Chrysler. They said the recall is now delayed until January. So I guess I'll roll around on a rebuilt rear until it fails again and they end up doing something with these in January timeframe.

Same with me, but, my truck does not even fall into the recall even though it happened. I think a class action lawsuit would fix there a$$.

You may have a point it seems that many times the only time some companies start listening is when there is negative publicity out there such as a law suit. What ever happened to the day that a company would stand behind their products?

Well I am a tad bit annoyed. I called Chrysler because I was curious about this recall issue. Here we are in December and I've heard nothing about this recall from dealers or Chrysler.

Anyways the rep was very short with me about the information but he basically said they don't have the required parts yet and they don't plan to issue this recall until the first quarter of 2013 now.

To satisfy my curiosity I asked what would be done for owners like me if something happened before the recall who's build date falls within the range but have no warranty. The answer I got was basically I'd have to pay out of pocket then I would have to file with Chrysler to get reimbursed.

In all honesty it sounds like they are dragging their feet.

Had a similar off-standish response from my SA at the dealership a couple weeks ago when I asked about it. They both just kinda looked at each other and played dumb and never gave any sort of real answer.

I think my rig fell out of the manufactured date, and at some point I'm going after market in the rear end anyway, but still....they know something's up and I'm not sure what 'parts' they need (locktite is SO hard to find these days....)

Default Pinion Nut Recall

I took mine to the dealer today and was told they haven't been able to get the part for over a year. I'm going to have them check and make sure mine hasn't come loose as I tow an RV. Supposed to wait until I get another notice from the Recall Administration.

Yep, still no second notice from Chrysler. I've had the original notice for so long that, if it wasn't for the fact that I've already been through THREE rebuilds on my rear diff, I would have forgotten about the recall entirely.

MAYBE IT'LL COME LOOSE AS I'M DRIVING PAST THE FRONT WINDOW OF MY DEALERSHIP AND I'LL END UP GRILLE-FIRST IN THE MOTHER EFFING GENERAL MANAGER'S OFFICE. OH YEAH THAT'S RIGHT, I'D HAVE TO ACTUALLY FIND A DEALER THAT GAVE A SH*T FIRST AND NONE OF THE THREE THAT ARE CLOSE TO ME HAVE PASSED THAT TEST. STICK IT UP YOUR A*SES.

I was in for service a couple of weeks ago, and the service mgr. told me that my truck was in the recall range and if I had about an hour they'd fix it right up. I said sure, although kinda surprised due to reading about lack of correct part. A few minutes later he came back and said they had no parts and when parts came in I'd get a call. I was about to leave for a 700 mile round trip and asked him what would happen if the thing came loose at 70mph on the interstate and I flipped into a bus load of nuns. He almost had a heart attack! He said I could crawl underneath and try to twist the rear drive shaft and if it didn't twist, the nut was still tight.

Okey dokey, I guess.
Anyway, it's on record at the dealer.
