Default Which psi: on tires or on door sticker

Hello All,

What is the correct pressure for the tires....:
My tires state a psi value of 44 psi, wile the sticker on the door frame states that the it needs to be 35 psi.
What is the correct value to inflate the tires to?

Thanks in advance,

Eric

They seem to all come from the factory over inflated. Mine were a 44 psi as well however I have since lowered them all to around 38 psi which is closer to what the door sticker says.

Hi RansRAM,

Thanks for the quick reply.
However, I don't know what the tires were inflated to, but only that it actually is printed on the sidewall of the tire, that the pressure needs to be 44 psi.

Thanks. Eric

Is that the Max pressure of 44 on the sidewall ? All I know is that when I lowered the pressure I got a much better ride. MPG also stayed about the same. I have 30,000 kms now and have rotated them five times with no uneven wear. So sitting at 38 PSI seems right to me.

Default tire pressure

Go with what is on the door sticker. This is the pressure that the suspension will ride the best at. Just my 2 cents worth.

Well as far as I understand, the tire pressure listed on the tire is the max amount of air recommended by the tire manufacturer when cold, and to allow the tire to handle up to its max load carrying capacity. The tire pressure spec listed on the door jam is recommended by the vehicle manufacturer to achieve it's estimated fuel economy numbers as well as it's handling characteristics.

Default tire pressure....

Hi guys,

Yes, it's the max as printed on the sides of tires.
I think I might go slightly higher than sticker, maybe. I think the 37 or so should be acceptable......

Thanks.

Always go with the door sticker. The tire companies have no idea what vehicle the tires will go on so no way to tell the weight to make the proper recommendation.

The door is the vehicle recommended pressure
The 44 psi on the tire is the max tire pressue that should be run in the tire.

Go with the door pressure!

You nailed it.

PS: I can't believe this forum STILL has the min 15 character rule....absurd.
