Thanks, HemiLonestar. I just received the ATSG Techtran Automatic Transmission Rebuild manual in the mail today. I'm studying it now. I also have the Haynes manual for my truck, which I must say is pretty lacking in the transmission removal section.

Haynes is the most useless generic....if you have nothing, a Haynes/Chilton is SLIGHTLY better.

For those who have removed a tranny on one of these dodges. Do I have to remove it together with the transfer case as one unit? Also, how long did it take you to remove it? tia

No, typically you remove the transfer case first (by itself) and then remove the trans.
