also its not really a "chip" it steals the signal from the IAT and reads lean to the computer to gain more more power the harder you hit it the more it does

I'm calling bullshit on this. IAT is a small part of a large fuel equation where MAP and O2 values are the primary determining factors for the fuel curve. Simply lying to the PCM with IAT values will not significantly effect the curve. Think about it - what happens when you dump more fuel into the cylinder? You get less oxygen in the exhaust stream, right? The O2 sensor sees this and passes it along to the PCM where the fuel curve is adjusted to maintain the 14.7:1 stochiometric air-fuel ratio. Basically what will happen is that the PCM will adjust the long term fuel trims to compensate for the false input. You can go to Radio Shack and buy a twenty-five cent resistor that will do the same thing.

Air in the intake isn't rich or lean so the IAT doesn't actually "read lean". It reports air temperature in the intake to the PCM.

^^^^ He's Right ^^^^ there is a lot more to it than just that.

Watch out for these "chips" that send false signals to the sensors and PCM. They can overfuel your engine and cause some damage to combustion components, O2 sensors & catalytic converters as a result.

I look forward to seeing the before and after dyno pulls when you post them.

Anyway, lets examine the fuel calculation:

RPM/Max RPM x MPA/Baro x EGR flow (if applicable) x TPS x ECT x IAT x Sensed B+ x Upstream O2 x ST fuel x LT fuel x Purge Vapor Ratio = Pulse Width

From this, it's easy to see that IAT fuel modifier is only a small part of the overall calculation and to claim a 60 HP gain is just plain ridiculous.
