I used to run the cooper zeon LTZ but absolutley hated em in snow and mud. I run the cooper discover S/T maxx and will never run another tire again. I have over 40K on em now and probably have another 10K-15K to go and i run em year round. My LTZ were only lasting maybe 35K if i was lucky. I do a lot of pulling though so that will wear em quicker.

WOW I'm surprised to hear the 35k mile limit. I think I have like 20-25k miles on mine and they have almost no wear. Like you said though use matters, I drive pretty easy usually and live in FL(no hills, etc) where tires usually go bad from dry rot...

I got 80k miles on my last set of firestone firehawks on my s10 before selling it and they are still on the truck with another 20k miles on them. They are nearly bald now. Mostly tire life is dependent on the driver.

I believe you on the mud/snow aspect as my coopers seem to suck when wet out. NO TRACTION whatsoever. The compound might just have gotten hard from some burnouts though because it was good when wet initially...

Yeah but I also ran my ltz on my diesel as well and have never run them on a half ton so a lot of weight difference there as well. Not saying they are a bad tire cause I loved the look of em but just wasn't happy with the wear and we have a lot of gravel here as well

Thanks for the recommendation skinny on the Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx. I'm going to check those out. I like the wet grip on Coopers, especially on rainy days on the street.

I ordered a set of Falken Rocky Mountain ATS (same as Wildpeaks) from Discount Tire and will be getting them installed this weekend. I've seen them on some trucks around here and they look great. It was between them and Cooper Zeon LTZs but I have seen more than a few reviews complaining about the tread life and the Falkens have a 50K mile warranty and have excellent reviews. Plus, you can't beat the price of them.

Just an FYI for those who rely on tread life warranty, it's just for marketing/sales. They prorate it and it's really of no benefit. My dad has a set of coopers on his stratus they are bald at 30k miles with a 60k mile warranty, the shop was able to give him a $50 credit towards a new set(of the same tires). My dad told the guy he wasn't going to waste his money on the same shitty tires and he went elsewhere.

Just an FYI..... go by the tread wear UTQG rating(on the sidewall). This will better depict actual tread life.

Personally I love the BFG A/Ts. They last a long time on the street and are really good offroad, not the best but definitley worth looking at. I,ve had them on 3 trucks so far and will probably get them again.
