Exclamation Can I use these tire sizes on my stock truck?

I am looking to install either 275/70/17 or a 285/70/17 tires on my stock rims and suspension on my 2010 Ram 4X4.....will either size fit without hitting the lower control arm or ?

I DO have a 2" spring leveling kit already installed in front, and 2" in rear. Also, anyone know the width of my factory rims? They are the 17" Thanks!

Hello nightwalks; I do believe your OE 17"ers are at 8.5" wide with an 18mm offset. It will be stamped on the inside spokes somewhere. As far as tire sizes you mentioned, you could definitely go to 275/70-17 without rub on the upper control arm. As far as the 285/70-17's, that tire jumps from the OE size 265/70-17 at 10.4" wide to 11.2" using the 285's. A difference in width of .8" which divided by two gets you about an additional .4" wider out to the sides. Confused yet? Anyways, just crawl under your front end and try and measure how much distance you have between your tire sidewall and the upper control arm. If you want to run the wider, I would definitely recommend some wheel spacers like these just to keep from wearing the inside of the tire out.

09nitetrain; that is interesting man. Was that size an option back in 06? If I'm not mistaken, the manufacturer did put that size on the 4WD's. How much on your backspacing or wheel offset on your stock 17's bud?

the stock size for my truck was a 265 70 17 and i put a leveling kit on and i liked my rims that came with the truck. so i figured 285 70 17 would be max limit but i think i can get a set of 285 75 17 to fit.
