Default Heat is luke warm

Hello,
I have a 98 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.9 ltr v-8. The heat is only putting out luke warm air. I have replaced the thermostat, I have tried to burp the cooling system, both heater hoses are hot to the touch, the upper radiator hose is hot to the touch, and I am getting nowhere. Can anyone help?

Sounds like the heater core is partially stopped up happened to me just remove it and flush it should be behind the dash right in the middle or you could flush it while its in the truck by unhooking the heater hoses and making an adapter to hook up to the hose pipe that's what I did just get someone to slowely increase the pressure of the Waterhouse so you don't risk bowing the heater core and make sure you hook the hose pipe to the inlet on the heater core not be outlet

My old 99 Dakota had horrible heat right from factory. I actually did a back flush of the core and that damn truck would cook you right out after that. I did have to do it twice for full effect. Another trick is to use clear PVC hose and fill the heater core with CLR, let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes then flush. With the clear PVC hoses you can really get a good look at how much junk comes out of the core.

what i noticed today is that my heater is blowing around 95 deg out the vents with engine temp at 200 but if i turn it on rec mode it will do 123 deg out same vent and if you go back into reg with heater door open it will drop back down to 95 or lower in the morning i am going to see what it does on rec mode this is my first dodge i just replaced the heater blend doors with the ones from heater treater the doors are working great and i have flushed the heater core and run acide thru it i have a good flow of water with a hose thru the heater core from either hole the core is flowing fine i think the heater core is to small for the amount of air that is pulled in from the ouside cauing it to cool down in the morning i am going to see what it does on rec mode if it keeps it heat up i will unhook the wire from the motor on the rec door and maybe put a swith in the wire to control it from the dash has anyone else ever done this
