Nope! Never...this will be my first.

Regarding power, you need to find a constant power source or make your own and run a relay to the battery.
Haven't done mine yet,so cannot comment on where to run the wires through

im not too savvy on lighting and electrical....how hard is this to wire and run the relay and switch? whats the process?

Not hard at all.....
on one end of the lead/power wire there is a relay connecting to the battery, other end to the switch and another wire from the switch to the light that you will be controlling.
Im sure I am explaining this in quite easy terms but it isnt all that hard.

Im sure someone can chime in here to offer better advise.

I am more of a do'er than someone who can explain

No.

Just a fairly straight-forward drill job.

However, measure correctly as, if you look carefully at the pics with the honeycomb grille, you'll see they're not centred and I had to redo it.
