I agree.

If I ran a 15.8 I could say it would have been a 10.5 if I had about 1,000 more hp, but that's useless info...

Anyway that's a good time for your truck, congrats!

Take your "corrected" et and combine it with a slick track and tell me how you're gonna run that number?
You're not....
You race the track your on and the weather conditions you are dealt....you can't arbitrarily say it'll run xx.xx if the weather is better. There are WAY more variables in drag racing than you're considering.

Figure this one out with your corrected numbers. I helped build a 7.3 diesel truck, we live at sea level and race there....truck ran consistent 11.30's. We went up to Bandimere for a race, the density altitude that day was 18,000'+....we ran an 11.10 and picked up about 6 mph.
Corrected ET's are bs....
Agree about the correction time. Too many variables...DA is a bench racers tool to compare themselves on the interwebz too other racers around the country.

However, Your claim about DA's being BS at Bandimere based on your performance? DA and airpressure effect NA motors, turbos were designed by the avaition industry to maintain HP at altitude/elevation, and they do it very well. So, I agree with your statement, but the example can be a subject to interpretation.

I do beleive the lower density might have had an impact on the aero drag on the truck, resulting in the higher trap speed

I believe his point was that saying the truck is capable of 14.7 because the DA adjustment says it is is BS. Even if it were those conditions he wouldn't run a 14.7 because there are a million other factors...

DA definitely effects performance

I think DA "might" be a useful tool for N/A guys to identify potential for their rigs, and try and shoot for it..

I understand what you are saying, it just shows you in a fairly accurate way that in curtain air you will run worse than in other air, has a lot to do with the amount of oxygen in the air, temp, etc. helps explain why in January you will run say a 9.0 and come April or may when the da goes from -500 to 2500 why your truck is runnin say a 9.3-9.4,

This is in febuary, -400 da

This is in July ,3500 da

Tell me that's bullshit....... Same mods in both vids

He's not saying DA doesn't have an effect, he's saying it's an extremely inaccurate way to guess what you're vehicle will run under other conditions, because there are so many other factors.

Uhhh...the differences in incremental times.
Important stuff to a drag racer.
