Default Starting Issue

Almost every time I go to start my 1998 dodge ram 1500 5.2l truck it will click a couple times, like what would happen if the battery was dead. But sometimes the truck will start right up first time, but mainly when it is already warmed up. Would this be the problem of a bad ground? or a bad spot in the starter? Thank you.

Could be either one. Start with the obvious and make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight and make sure the battery is fully charged. If you have a volt meter, start by making sure you have 12.5 volts or better. next, check to see if you have B+ at both starter wires with the ignition in the start position when it's acting up. If you're good there, perform a voltage drop test across the ground. If that's good, then you have a starter issue.
