Default Do I need different lug nuts for 20's

Hi all. New to the forum, and to Ram trucks. Just bought a 2002 1500 for my son. It had the stock 17 inch wheels. Well I found some OEM 20 inch off of a different Ram and put them on today. They were already mounted and balanced. My son just called as he is driving at highway speed and said it seems like it is out of balance. Just checking if I need to use different lug nuts on the 20s than on the 17's.

Its kind of hard to see what my lug nuts look like in this picture. Do you have, or can you get a picture of your son's for his 17's?

i don't know for sure
but the Taper of the lug nut cone that fits into the wheel itself may be shallower or deeper

If it is, it will ruin the wheel rather quickly

Thanks for the info. I will pull one off in the morning and check it. Went around and tightened all the lug nuts a bit more. May have to go have the tires rebalanced.

i noticed once when picking my truck up after they put the wheels spacers on (not my brothers shop or my buddys shop north of me) but just a tire shop here in town that on the way home and for probably the next 50 miles every little bump at low speeds i head some funny clunking noise, thought it was cuase the adjustables were at 2.75 and something hadnt been tightened down all the way when the lift was done, then when i was taking the tires off to get at the calipers to paint them i notcied THEM TARDS didnt tighten the lugnuts on the wheel down all the way so they were just a tad bit loose, so i re-torques the sh*t out of them and no more funny noises

hopefully all it is is a balance issue but if it is new lugs that you are going to need they arnt that expensive.
