Default Drilling Holes in Exhaust Pipes

What will happen if I drill some holes in my exhaust pipes? Will my truck be louder? Will I have more power or anything?

Go ahead, if you want to be like the tuner car group, of whom us men drive our trucks over.
My advice, get that thought out of your head, cause it's a bad idea, it will allow water to get up inside and cause it to rust from the inside out.
But if you want a real man's sound, cut out your muffler and replace it with more exhaust pipe. Leave the cat on though, as you won't pass emissions without it.
But your truck will be louder and meaner than any muffler you can buy. And in my experience, you will noticeably gain more torque, and maybe a couple hp.

Alright cool I'm going to do that. So just cut out the muffler and weld a piece of exhaust pipe in its place?

Where exactly were you thinking of drilling the holes, how many and what diameter?

....and also, are you speaking of OEM exhaust or do you have an AM?

Yeah exactly, you will never regret the sound you will get. And it's even better if you one day get a high flow cat.

I agree Nck. I have the little 318 and a simple homemade exhaust that roars.

Way back when , my mom took her Mustang to Midas Mufflers for a new muffler. For some reason I decided to look under her car at her new muffler. I found that the mechanics had drilled holes in her brand new muffler I guess so it would rot out faster and need another. So I don't think drilling holes in any part of your exhaust is such a good idea.
