3 things which I've had good success with for mileage and power have been as follows. 1. test fuel pressure at the rail port the higher the better above 35 and below 40 PSI. 2 buy your 02 sensors from Chrysler using your VIN. and 3rd, replace your air filter.

I've got a new air filter in,even ran without one without much improvement. As far as the throttle cable trick don't think that's it . Any little hill even at 2500 rpm and truck still feels like a 4 banger.

Considering you have a high mileage 5.2, you might want to check your compression and see if the numbers are down. It's possible this engine needs an overhaul and if this is the case, now would be a great time to go with a bigger bump stick and do a little port work to the heads. Also, what gear does the rear end have?

355 for gears also have 285/75/16 on. Thought about trying 265' s since orignal size is supposed to be 245

Bingo. That's definitely robbing you of some power. I would say your options are to go back to stock size tires, beef up the engine, or swap over to 3.92 gears.
