Default Tuner Discussion. PLZ read

I have a 05 5.7L ram 1500 Thunder Road, and im trying to pick out the right performance tuner. Basically i know of the Super chips, Dioblo Sport, and the Banks chip. Now iv read about all three but i would like to get real feed back and see why it is you chose the tuner you did and if your happy with it. I would greatly appreciate a good discussion about this topic. thank you

I guess they are basically all the same. They may have slightly different capabilities. It really comes down to personal preference and the depth of your pocket. I chose the Diablo Trinity because it did everything I needed it to and it seemed to be the most popular.

yea it seems like you get the most bang for your buck too. And hey a little off topic but how do you like your CAI? and did you notice anything just from that?

The DSP offers custom pcm tuning while the others you mentioned does not which may or may not be a decision maker for you. Superchips does have advance/custom TCM capabilities which can provide great increase of enjoyment.

FYI the 05 is considered to be the best year (3G)for PCM tuning leniency

Due to the limited tcm options for my year i went with SC 3815 and maxed out the shift points and loaded the 91 Canned Tune and then stacked my SCT custom tune for my engine mods.

Not to sound like a noob, but what do you mean PCM Tuning, and what is TCM Tuning? and what do you mean by leniency? like it supports moast tunes or is just bad ass...haha J/k

I did notice a difference and at WOT it sounds like Godzilla on steroids. I am however contemplating changing it out if it is going to interfere with the under hood light I just got. AND because I really don't like the way the passenger side intake hose is routed under the frame.

I'll keep you in mind if I decide to change it. I got a stock Mopar under hood light off eBay complete kit only thing missing is the screws.

Superchips gives advanced transmission tuning, I believe that's what satin was saying. You get a lot more control over shift points, torque management, etc. Also for an additional small fee you can purchase advanced trans tuning and even make your own shift schedules.

From my experience the superchips tunes outperform the diablo tunes.

Diablo's advantage is custom tuning(if you have head work, cam, etc.). I would get SC every time over diablo unless I needed custom tuning.
