Default Over the bed rail tonneau covers

I am thinking of getting a typical bed rail mounted tonneau cover but was curious about any wear or damage to the bed rail trim caps.

From your experience, have you seen any wear to the trim peices them selves or has the wear been on the tonneau cover seals?

I was going to go with the simple light weight MOPAR Tri-fold. Simple, easy on-off, light weight, and looks good.

I just bought a roll up that sits on the rails. The rails have caps and the tonneau rails have a sponge like cushion on the bottom. Haven't installed it yet but don't see any way they will damage anything.

I have a Leer 700 that sits over the top of everything. Have had it on for almost three years and no damage to the rails or paint.

I don't believe that i have heard about any wearing when using the covers that sit on the bed rails

I would find out who makes the Mopar Tri Fold, & save yourself some money & still get the same product, without paying for the Mopar name
