Default A Bit Anxious: Bringing my Truck to The Dealer For an Issue

Tomorrow I am scheduled to bring my truck to the dealer for what should be a warranty repair on my cruise control. The problem I am having is a couple things, but I suspect related. Frequently when depressing the cruise control it takes several attempts before it becomes active, then once engaged it shuts off which can happen immediately or after many, many miles of being engaged. I am a bit anxious as my wife had two Chrysler products that had intermittent issues and when she brought the cars in to the dealers, she was told they could not duplicate the problem, bring it back if it does it again with the same results. Contact with Chrysler customer care only led to more frustration and no resolution. She ended up trading the vehicles in. Her experience and I have read similar stories on this forum. The one thing I may have in my favor is this issue has been going on for quite a while and has gotten much worse and more frequent. Keeping fingers crossed.

I've heard of problems with the cruise control in the 13+ Rams too, but I never use cruise control so I haven't really paid much attention to those threads. Good luck in getting it fixed, I would hate for them to blow you off like that.

Yes best of luck. I used my cruise control once so for but didn't have a problem with it. I'll definitely pay attention to it.

It so far, knock on wood has ended well. The dealer took care of it pretty quick. They ran diagnostics and found some codes and a faulty speed control switch. They replaced it, cleared the codes and updated the PCM. It worked well on my way home, but my drive home was on surface streets, so not a good test, except it does now turn on the first time each and every time, which was not the case before. We are going on a trip over Thanksgiving, so that will be the real test. I was very happy with the service I received at my dealer.

I hope that was just a fluke. Glad you got it fixed. I use mine a lot. 550 miles to my son's place and 775 to my daughter. Cruise working properly is a must.
